Learn how to create a personalized batch of natural soap safely and with confidence. We will cover the how and why of cold process soap making, ingredients, safety, basic formulation, and finally: Hands-on cold process soap making!
This is NOT a melt and pour DIY. This is a class to teach you soap making the ‘old fashion’ way!
Leave Shade Mountain with:
- A soap recipe that you can repeat.
- Your own soap mold to make future batches.
- A 4 pound loaf of soap (equals about 8 extra large bars)
- The knowledge and confidence to do it again!
Your teacher, Tamela, has over 20 years experience making soap and formulating skin care products. Along with being a Registered Aromatherapist, she has a love of teaching others!
Please note: Due to the manufacturing process of real soap, participants must be 18 years or older.

Tamela is an excellent teacher. This was truly a hands-on soap making from scratch experience. All safety measures were taken to make this a fun event but we all learned something in the process. Love the soap I made and definitely recommend this class.

Had a fun day learning the basic soap making process. Took home some great smelling soap. Liked the hands on experience and the support provided by instructor. Safety precautions were explained and followed. Everyone in the class had a chance to specialize their soap for their individual taste. I highly recommend this class to the novice soap makers out there.

I have wanted to make my own soap for years, but the “scary” use of lye held me back. Tamela was informative, personable and incredibly knowledgeable. The best part was she has a heart to share her knowledge. I would recommend this class to anyone even remotely interested in making their own soap. I had so much fun and learned so much in my first soapmaking class that I came back for a second class. I feel confident that I can try soapmaking on my own now, and I can’t wait for the advanced class. I feel this is a lost art.
