Soap Making Class 2: Introduction to Coloring and Swirling Technique

PLEASE NOTE: Class 1: Cold Process Workshop is a prerequisite to attending this class. 

Come and DO! Class 2: Intro to Coloring & Swirling Technique includes all the equipment and materials to make a 44 ounce loaf of soap!

In the classroom portion, you will: 

  1. Learn the pros and cons of using natural and man-made colorants
  2. Learn how soap base reacts to fragrance oil and essential oils
  3. Discuss three swirling techniques: pan swirl, loaf swirl and drop swirl 

During the Hands-On portion, you will: 

  1. Make a soap from scratch as we did in the Cold Process Workshop using the technique of your choice! 

What to bring / wear: 

  1. Eye protection is a MUST! We cannot allow you to participate without eye protection. We will have safety glasses if you do not have. 
  2. Bring along a long sleeve shirt to make soap in. You cannot participate without a long sleeve shirt. 
  3. Long hair must be tied back.
  4. Bring two bath size towels to insulate soap. 
  5. You may bring a drink or snack.

Class will be approximately 3 hours.

Your teacher, Tamela, has over 20 years experience making soap and formulating skin care products. Along with being a Registered Aromatherapist, she has a love of teaching others!

Please note: Due to the manufacturing process of real soap, participants must be 18 years or older.
